Nancy Averick

Nancy Hill Averick CHARLOTTE - Nancy Hill Averick, 91, died October 17, 2012, at her home in Charlotte, NC. She was born July 12, 1921, in Zanesville, Ohio, to George W Hill and Ruth Barnes Hill. Nancy lived in Zanesville until her early 20s when she moved to Manhattan, NY where she lived for 35 years and was a model. She then moved back to Zanesville where she later went to college and earned her degree at age 62. She moved to Charlotte in 1991 when her daughter opened her chiropractic practice in the South Park area. Nancy always had a positive outlook on life and a great enthusiasm for life which was contagious to those around her. She enjoyed being with people and especially spending time with her daughter. She had a large circle of friends and some who affectionately referred to her as Mom. She also enjoyed gardening, water color painting and exercising at the Senior Center. She was an avid reader and was always up to date on current events. She loved to be on committees and volunteered to help others. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Elizabeth H. Averick of Charlotte. A celebration of Nancy's life is being held Friday, October 26 at 12:30 pm at the Tyvola Road Senior Center located at 2225 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
