Belmont, North Carolina - Rachel Harper Fulp, of Belmont, North Carolina, passed away on September 9, 2025. The beloved wife of Barry Fulp for 45 cherished years, Rachel led a life marked by dedication, service, and community involvement.

A compassionate and skilled registered nurse, Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She contributed her talents at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte and served as an Occupational Health Nurse for the City of Charlotte. Later, she shared her passion for healthcare by teaching in the Health Career Academy within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system for nearly five years.

Rachel's commitment extended beyond nursing; she served her country for 23 years as a part-time flight nurse in the North Carolina Air National Guard, retiring with the distinguished rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Her leadership and love for history shone as a former president of the Belmont Historical Society. She was a devoted member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Charlotte since 1970.

Rachel is survived by her loving husband, Barry; her brother, Tommy Harper; sister-in-law, Marilyn Harper; nieces, Denese Duncan (Ric), Mandy Andrew (Bob), Amy Craig (Giles); nephew, Keith Harper (Lindsay); and numerous great-nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Ethrie Harper and Esther Guffee Harper; her brother, Virgil "Buck" Harper; and sister-in-law, Becky Harper.

The family will welcome guests on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at McLean Funeral Directors in Belmont. A service celebrating Rachel's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Road, Charlotte, with the Rev. Dr. Timothy McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen - A Quiet Place in Belmont.
