I know today is a very difficult day for family & friends, as it is Rhett's birthday. Although we would all love to celebrate with him today, I pray you have some comfort in knowing that he is having the best birthday ever partying with Jesus!! No more pain, and no more sorrow, completely whole & healed!! My heart continues to lift you all up in prayer & healing!!

Mrs. Butler, I was so saddened to read about Rhett. He was such a fine young man. I had the pleasure of teaching Rhett Horticulture at Independence. Please know that you and your family are and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Erinn, Jeff and I had the pleasure of meeting you and Rhett in Summersville, WV when you were there on a camping trip. We soon made friends and you both made lasting impressions on us. Rhett dared me to get on that jetski and ride, to live and recover from my heart surgery. So his legacy to me is that I still take each day now not only for me but for him. I thank him for making me get up and go. My condolences to you and your beautiful children. I hope you still have our number and if you ever need us we are here for you. Our prayers are with you dear. Also with the family.

Erinn, Caleb, Trinity, and the rest of the Butler family....I am at a loss for words as I was just told about Rhett moments ago. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, though I remember Erinn talking about him and their family often.May the Lord carry you all until you can walk again in your own. My prayers are with Rhett Butler's Family & Friends at this difficult time. Rhett was such a great guy. We were classmates at Independence High School c/o 93 & he was loved by many. We knew each other for over two decades and were roommates in two different locations. There was never any bad times and always a lot of good times. Even though we grew apart and let life get in the way, there was always a special feeling that came over me when we talked or went to a game. It's hard, knowing I will never get to experience that, with you again. Too soon bro.

I was shocked to hear of the passing of my friend Rhett. I want to offer my deepest condolences to his family during this very hard time. He was one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of knowing in my eight years living in Charlotte. I want his family to know he helped me and stood by me during one of the darkest times of my life. He was a good man. He will be missed.

As the mother of one of Rhett's closest friends, Rhett was always very sweet to me. Every time I saw him he would have a warm greeting for me along with a big hug. My heart breaks just thinking about how much he will be missed.

Rhett called me this pass Friday morning. He was reaching out to old friends, and networking.
His timing was perfect that day! I had a very sad morning that day. I had been dealing with my Aunt, who has stage four cancer... He reminded me how cancer has touched all of us. We talked about Father...
We where able to share a nice converstion. And I felt so much better. We talked as if we had just seen each other the day before...
He bragged about his beauiful family. He talked about how fast his children have grown up. We laughed.
He told me he enjoyed his job and coworkers.
He was happy. I can still hear his laugh in my head...
Rhett had a very sincere way of making everyone around him feel special. He always had a smile on his face. That conversation has not left mind. Or how kind he was to me.
Rhett had a very calm, uplifting spirit about him. He was always fun to be around. I am greatfull to have called him my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Rhetts unexpected He talked of his love for his family , his daughter and stepson , his mother and wife . He always had a big smile and good things to say . A pleasure to be around . My mother passed away yesterday and i can tell you that my experiences with her in Hospice have given me absolute faith that we will be reunited again . Rhett will be sorely missed. I only knew Rhett for a short time. I remember him with the most genuine, infectious smile. I believe he was trying to reach out to me recently through Linked-In and Facebook. I regret not having followed through, as I am not an avid user of both.
Looking through the pictures, they show much love extended to Rhett throughout his short life by his family and friends, and I believe, each and every night he went to sleep, he felt that love.
