Richard Johnston

Richard Earle Johnston MOORESVILLE - Mr. Johnston, 86, of Mooresville, went to be with his Lord on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Levine-Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville. Born October 12, 1926, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Herman and Ola Morgan Johnston. Mr. Johnston was former employed at A.Z. Price and Associates. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and Sunshine Club. Mr. Johnston was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy. He is survived by his wife, Jean Stewart Johnston; step-children, Jack Bowers and wife, Gwyn, Steve Bowers and wife, Cheryl, of Charlotte, and Myra Smith, of Ona, WV; sisters, Georgia Oxendin and husband, Stacy, and Rose Mullis; ten step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 1, 2013, at Southside Baptist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Mark Ball officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Charlotte. The family will receive friends in the church vestibule one hour prior to the service.
