Robin Locklear Obituary
Robin, of Matthews, NC, departed this life on September 19, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, in the chapel at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke, the Reverends Dufrene Cummings and Ted Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnt Swamp Church Cemetery.
Robin was born in Mecklenburg County on April 29, 1963 to James H. Oxendine, Jr. and Sybil Lois Oxendine. Robin was a dedicated mother who loved her children.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sybil Lois Oxendine, her maternal grandparents, Galloway and Sylvania Locklear, her paternal grandparents, James and Idell Oxendine and her grandchildren Shiloh and Cateline Crowell.
She is survived by her daughter April Locklear Crowell and husband John of Matthews, NC, her son Cody Locklear of the home, her father, James H. Oxendine, Jr. of Matthews, NC, two brothers, Anthony Oxendine of Matthews, NC, Gary Oxendine and Shondale Johnson of Lumberton, NC, one nephew, Xander Oxendine, a special aunt and uncle, Peggy and Defrene Cummings of Pembroke, NC and several aunts and cousins. A special thanks to Ms. Shelby Revels of Pembroke.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Revels Funeral Home Pembroke and at other times at the home of her aunt, Monnie Sanderson at 3235 Union Chapel Road, Pembroke.

I worked with Sybil for 9 years. Sybil was a wonderful person and friend, and when you got to know Sybil you also knew her family. She spoke of Robin so many times that I felt like I knew her. I am so sorry for your loss and especially for Robin's children. My heart goes out to the Oxendine family.
