Lancaster, South Carolina - Roy Charles Pardue Jr. ( Chuck "Raggedy Man" Pardue) 65, of Heath Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at MUSC Lancaster.
Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Roy Charles Pardue Sr. and Sally Thompson Pardue. He retired from Nutramax in 2018 and was an employee for Springs Industries for 25 years. Chuck's passion for antiques led to the opening of his store, Raggedy Man Antiques, in Heath Springs, SC, in 2019.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Dianne; daughter Ashley Hinson (Benjamin); three grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, and William; a brother, Richard Pardue (Janet), and a sister, Lori Yarborough (Troy); family friend, Allison Faile; and two beloved puppies, Charlie Brown and Lucy.
Chuck loved his family, community, friends, and customers. He was a gracious son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
His life was a living example of generosity. Chuck was an extremely hard worker in every aspect of his life. His heart was just as big as he was. His compassionate personality was contagious. In his younger days, "Big-Un" was quite the softball player. One of his simplest pleasures in life was mowing grass for himself and others. He loved a good rib-eye, as well as pond fishing and dove hunting. He was known to wear his shorts and flip-flops year round, no matter the weather. He always enjoyed a quiet evening at home in his chair with his puppies.
There will never be another man like Chuck because he was the best in every role he played in his life. As everyone says, "He was a real stand-up guy."
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church in Heath Springs, SC, The American Cancer Society, or KARE of 206-210 East Marion St. in Kershaw, SC.
