Samuel Randall Obituary
Dr. Randall, 91, of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Private graveside services were held at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Weddington, NC with Dr. Thomas Edgar officiating.
Dr. Randall was born on July 21, 1918 in Tientsin, China, son of the late Samuel J. Randall Sr. and Eulala Ameraine Randall. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and Medical School before performing his internship at the Mayo Clinic. He practiced medicine in Dayton, Ohio for 35 years before retiring in 1984 to Grandfather Mountain with his beloved wife of 62 years. They later moved to Charlotte, NC. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the 10th Mountain Division Medical Unit. He was also a 32nd-degree Mason. Dr. Randall was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, a son, Jeffrey L. Randall also preceded him in passing.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Patricia Randall of Charlotte; children, Samuel J. Randall, III, DDS (Gretchen) of Charlotte, Steven C. Randall of Greensboro, Scott P. Randall (Su) of Cincinnati, OH; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Randall of Florida; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.heritagefuneral.net.

I knew of Dr Sam thru my parents, Herb and Edna Furbee of Lebanon, Ohio...They all belonged to the Farm Bureau Council up there...Always heard wonderful things about Dr Sam and his wife Patty....

Dr. Randall was a great man. For the short time that we all knew him at CMC Pineville, we will greatly miss him.
