Sylvia Newsome Obituary

Sylvia Gordon Newsome
ALBEMARLE -- Mrs. Newsome went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 14, 2012 atthe Hospice House of Monroe, N.C. She was born in Waxhaw, N.C. on November 9, 1937.
Sylvia was a devoted member of Highland Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir for several years, member of the Joy Club and a member of the Women's Connection of Albemarle. She retired from U.S. government work after 30 years of service as an administrative assistant.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Newsome, her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Joan Newsome of Indian Trail, N.C.; her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Paul Hudson of Charlotte, N.C.; her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Jill Newsome of Wilmington, N.C.; her mother Wilma Gordon of Indian Trail, N.C. her eight grandchildren and her sister Jean Martin of Indian Trail, N.C.
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church, 106 Highland Drive, New London, N.C. A visitation will be held in the church sanctuary from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Interment will be follow in the church cemetery.
In liew of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
