Thelma Bright Eubanks Byrd
LANCASTER -- Mrs. Byrd, 92, of 2432 James Street, Lancaster passed away, Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Springs Memorial Hospital. Widow of the late Oscar James Byrd, she was born January 3, 1914, a daughter of the late Frank Eubanks and Sally Griffin Eubanks. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Elgin Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Byrd will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 3:00 PM at the Elgin Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles McAteer officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by a son, Ray Byrd and his wife Emma of Lancaster; a daughter, Barbara Gaskin and her husband Walter of Lancaster; a daughter in law, Rhoda Byrd; a sister, Ruth Scott of Mt. Holly; four grandchildren, Mark Byrd, Michael Byrd, Donna Oswald and Renee Taylor,; and six great grandchildren, Brad Byrd, Erin Byrd, Jonathan Byrd, Sydnee Byrd, Jamie Oswald, and Allen Oswald. She was preceded in death by a son, James 'Buck' Byrd, a brother, Hazel Eubanks and a sister, Gladys Hinson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2430 James Street, Lancaster.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elgin Baptist Church, 2303 Belmont Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mrs. Byrd.
