Dr. Tim Cooper was my physician for over 40 years. I became his patient when he and Dr. Whitesides opened their first clinic.
When Dr. Cooper decided to open Randolph Internal Medicine I followed him there and remained his patient until his retirement.
When he retired I was fortunate enough to find another physician so similar to him, you would have thought they were brothers.Their care for their patients was overwhelming.
Dr. Cooper was the most caring, compassionate person I've ever met. He always took time to listen to all your problems, no matter how many patients he had waiting to him, he gave you the best care possible. I loved seeing him in his white coat, carrying his black doctor's bag, you never saw him any other way. (THAT WAS DR. COOPER ~ ALWAYS SO PROFESSIONAL!)
No matter how sick I was I knew he was going to give me a hug and tell me he was going to make me feel better. He was true to his profession and was he best in the field of Internal Medicine.
My deepest condolences to the entire Cooper family, not only have you lost a loved one many of us have lost a very dear friend. He will be missed but always keep the memories you made with him for so many years in your heart. I have fond memories that I have of him and no one can ever take them away!
God Bless each of you as you grieve the loss of a wonderful, caring, loving, compassionate family member.

To Dr. Tim Cooper's Family and Loved Ones,
First of all, I extend to all of you my thoughts and feelings with regards to Doctor Tim's recent death. To say he was a good man is an understatement.
Back in the early 80's, I met Dr. Cooper at Presbyterian Hospital as a nurse working with Primary Care. One of my patients was a wealthy Caucasian male from West Virginia who flew to Charlotte in his own Helicopter for treatment of his difficult to treat respiratory problems. Another patient was an elderly Greek lady who adored the ground Tim walked on. I later decided to go to Dr. Tim as my doctor, although my health problems were minor.
During my brief encounters with Dr. Tim in hospital, especially with the two patients' diseases, I learned so much. Never before did I see a physician talk in such a caring manner and look at the patient to incorporate what one learns in medicine as to what may be happening with regards to sickness in the human body. The speech he used had a tone and strength that gave the patient the utmost respect that was perceived by the brain and deep inside to the heart of that person.
Dr. Cooper was in the top 1% of his profession and if new or older doctors wanted to be a stand out in their profession, they should just be similar to Dr. Tim. No one else could be exactly like him
Warm regards,
Retired Nurse, Charles Hansen

Dr. Tim Cooper was a true embodiment to his profession. He was my physician for approximately 40 years. Dr. Cooper saw you as a person, not just as a patient. You didn't mind if you had to wait to see him as you knew he was giving his time and attention to someone who needed the extra care. Dr. Cooper, with my highest esteem, may your kind and compassionate soul rest in peace.

Dr. Cooper treated my great uncles and aunts, both my grandmothers, my mother and my father, and my siblings and me since he started practice with Dr. Whitesides some years ago. He was an outstanding physician. He was respected by his patients because he was knowledgeable, kind, caring and trustworthy. All my family and I trusted him with our lives. He never let us down. He made us all feel like we were his good friend. I honor him for a life well-lived and for making the world better and the medical profession better because he was here. I will never forget the little black leather bag that he carried everywhere on his rounds. May God comfort his family and may they be proud knowing the many, many lives he touched and the positivity he spread everywhere he went.
