'T.A.'
MORGANTON -- Mr. Anderson, 79, of Hwy. 181 N, Morganton, NC died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Burke Palliative Care Center, Valdese, NC following a lengthy illness. He was born in Burke County, NC on September 15, 1931 and was the son of the late Henry McLean Anderson and Sudie Alexander Anderson Garrison. Tommy was a retired employee of Southern Bell with 20 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Louise Carlton Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by a son, Alex Anderson and his wife Carol, of Hendersonville, NC; daughters, Judy Laughrun and her husband Jack, and Jane Anderson, all of Morganton; a brother, Henry McLean Anderson and his wife, Joyce of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Betty Atwater of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Travis Anderson and his wife, Heather of Florence, SC, Eli Laughrun and Jesse Pendley both of Morganton; and great-grandchildren, Lawson and Alison Anderson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 at Linville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Neal F. Brantley, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends in Linville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service. At other times the family will be at Mr. Anderson's residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Tommy and Louise were good people and raised wonderful children. Judy, Alex & Jane loved the Cat in the Hat & Green Eggs and Ham books. That was the last time I remember seeing them, reading to them.

Sorry to learn of Tommys passing.We used to be close friends but went our separate ways.My father(Jack) and stepmother both passed 11-22nd and 26th of 2009.
