I met Mike when I was a rookie police officer in training and he was an instructor in 1973. He was a fine officer and man.

Having my older brother Mike pass away is a great loss to the Holmberg family. He truly loved his family & had accomplished a lot in his life. He was part of the greatest generation. My brother often accused me of following his footsteps. He serving in the military as I did when I was eligible & then becoming a police officer as he did. I guess he was right. I always looked up to Mike & was proud to say he was my brother. I will miss him just as much as you will LIb, John, Elizabeth & grandchildren.

To a great person with a devil of a sense of humor. Who also managed to keep my brothers in line at the lawn mower repair shop. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Thanks for you fond memories at the "shop" and all the time and help you gave to my family!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have so many fond memories of growing up with Mike and then later working with him at the Cop Shop. He was one of the few that could get my Mother's(Olive) "goat" real fast. I'm so sorry to hear he is gone.

My condolences to your family on the death of Mr. Holmberg. I recently lost my father, Bob Collins, ( of Hickory NC) who served with Mr. Holmberg in England during WWII with the 398th Bomb Group. Dad was a waist gunner on a B-17 (triangle W). Dad often talked about Mr. Holmberg and visited him several times in Charlotte. I live in Charlotte not far from your house. I know that you are proud of Mr. Holmberg and suffer a great loss in his passing. No words can be said for him, my father and others who served their country...other than "They truly were part of the GREATEST GENERATION" May your family find peace during these coming days of sadness, but can rest in the knowledge that Mr. Homlberg is living with the glory of God, above the clouds that he once flew among during the war.

Mike would say it straight and homest. All the years we worked together at the mower shop for over 20 years. We ate together with Bibby and Robby at Morrisons at Southpark. Just times talking to Mike could make a diference in your day. Please rest now. I'll miss you more then some could and would understand.
