Ramon A. "Sonny" Morrow

1929 - 2017

Ramon A. (Sonny) Morrow, 88, of Cheboygan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at his home encircled by loved ones. A lifelong resident of Cheboygan, Ramon was born March 26, 1929, in Detroit, the son of Arthur and Thelma (Elliott) Morrow. On Sep. 2, 1950 in Cheboygan, he married Kathleen Ferguson. He had been employed at Bilitzke Dry Cleaning, and later from 1946 until his retirement, with his wife, Kathleen and two sons, he owned and operated Northwood Products.  Ramon enjoyed bowling, yard work, spending time outdoors and having breakfast at Big Boy Restaurant.  He was a former member of the Cheboygan Housing Commission, a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are four children; Debra (Roy) Schryer of Cheboygan, Denise (Jerry) Jones of Dewitt, Raymon (Nikilynn) Morrow, and Robert (Kathy) Morrow, also of Cheboygan, 12 grandchildren; Troy (Mike Sharkey) Schryer of Royal Oak, Tara (Brian) Ecker, and Todd (Kayte) Schryer, of Cheboygan, Jennifer (Jon) Miller of Clare, Jackie (Zack) Reed of St. Johns, Jerry Jr. (Jennifer) Jones of Lansing, Chad Morrow of Gaylord, Travis Morrow of Waltham, Massachusetts, Brendon (Colleen) Morrow of Traverse City, Nicole (Dwain Pink) Morrow of Petoskey,  Nathan (Alicia) Morrow of Levering, and Natasha (Brett) Olson of Grand Rapids,
17 great-grandchildren; Parson, Elliott and Reid Schryer, Beau, Hugh and Violet Ecker, Ethan and Makenzie Miller, Madalyn and Jack Reed, Kylie and Aubrey Jones, Emerson Pink, Isabella Jessick and Avery Morrow, Zach and Bralynn Olson, and a sister in law, Nancy Pries of Cheboygan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Kathleen in 2013. Ray's family would like to recognize and thank his "Caregiver Family" for their dedication, love, and support.  They were a blessing and an extension of his family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 11:00 am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00 am at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church. Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate; burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Bishop Baraga School or the Alzheimer's Association.
