David Van Williams

1957 - 2025

David Van Williams, 68, of Marble, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2025.
He was the son of the late Van Chester and Cleo Hicks Williams.
David had worked with Team Industries as a machinist (gear technician). He worked for Team Industries for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandson, Dimitri. He loved being outdoors, doing anything mechanical and his job at Team Industries.
David liked to share his knowledge, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He never met a stranger. His favorite flower was stripped Tiger Lilies that his mother grew.
David was a member of Junaluska Baptist Church in Andrews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Steve Howell.
Surviving is his honey of 28 years, Teresa Pendergrass; children of his heart, Jessica Ray (Brandon, John Pack and Cody Gibby; sister, Donna Howell; grandchildren, Dimitri Cross-Ray, Haven Ray, Rylei Gibby and Waylon Thurman; and Team Industry family, many cousins and friends, and a special friend, Armando DeJesus and his wife and children.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, in the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, N.C., with Pastor Philip Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Cook, Matthew Barton, Armando DeJesus, Jack Rhodes, Dimitri Cross-Ray, Perry Jordan, John Pack and Cody Gibby. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Barton, Johnny Hogan, Team Industries colleagues and Rylei Gibby.
The family received friends from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children's Place, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
