Edgar "Gene" Beasley

1940 - 2025

Edgar ""Gene"" Beasley, 84, of Topton, N.C., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
He was born June 4, 1940, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Edgar Beasley and Gladys Hill Beasley. 
Mr. Beasley was a member of Andrews United Methodist Church. He was a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, and he loved South Carolina Gamecock Football and all of their other sports. 
Mr. Beasley had worked for DDSN Early Intervention. 
He was a member and served as president of the Nantahala Community Development Club. He loved the sun and the beach, and was an avid reader, he read the New York Times every day.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eva ""Susie"" Beasley; daughter, Regina ""Jodie"" McCord (Carl) of Nantahala; sisters, Joan Calwell of Pelzer, S.C., and Marie Arrington of Easley, S.C.; brothers, Kenneth Beasley (Martha) of Easley, S.C., and Steve Beasley (Jan) of Palm Coast, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Earl Beasley.
A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Briartown Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jack Hollowell officiating.  Following the service, the family will receive friends and provide a meal in the church fellowship hall.
