Robert Reidenbach Obituary

Robert ""Cowboy Bob"" Roger Reidenbach, 77, of Hiwassee Street in Murphy, N.C., passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, in his loving state of North Carolina.
Mr. Reidenbach was born on Jan. 13, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of the late Robert S. Reidenbach and DeGardin Reidenbach. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Rogers; and his love, Colette.
Although Bob was born in New York, Robert grew up in Hollywood, Fla.
Robert loved this town of Murphy that he called home for nearly 27 years. He loved the mountains, building things, gardening, trees, animals, dancing and singing karaoke.
Bob became a Master Gardener through N.C. State University.
He was always helping someone out and never asked for anything he didn't earn. He loved to sing and dance at Chevelles, eat at Murphy's Chophouse, Main Street Diner, Waffle King and Sal's Pizza, just to name a few, and work at Fairy Cross Bottle Shop. He was a hard worker, and his joys were his daughters and dancing the night away.
He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and was good a friend to so many.
Robert attended Good Shepherd of the Mountains Church.
Surviving Mr. Reidenbach are his two daughters, Tammy Barbieri (Jeff Barbieri) and Joy Leonard (Jason Leonard); grandchildren, Gabriella and Miranda Leonard, Alex and Ashlyn Barbieri; along with cousins, nieces and nephews here in the states and in Belgium.
Some might remember Bob ringing the bell dressed as Santa for the Salvation Army this time of year. Please think of him when you hear that bell, make a donation, lend a hand or share a smile.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made in memory of Cowboy Bob to Valley River Humane Society, 7450 U.S. 19, Marble, NC 28905; 828-837-2304.
The family thanks Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga., for their utmost service, respect and professionalism throughout this delicate time.
The family would also like to thank Pastor Chris at Good Shepherd of the Mountain for being by our father's side throughout this journey and extending his prayers and love within the church and the supportive congregation while comforting us from afar.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Bob lived a full life! He never met a stranger and had strong opinions of what he liked and what he didn’t like. We only met one of his daughters, but we felt like we knew his family from the many stories he told us in pride. Dance on Bob, we will miss you!
