Harry Charles Adams

rry Charles Adams, 96, of Western Springs, IL, passed away peacefully in Naples, FL, with his family by his side, Nov. 4, 2011. Born July 20, 1915, Lodi, OH, he graduated from Muskingum University, '38, with a distinguished athletic career and induction in the Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned an M.A.,Kent State University,'41. A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, he coached basketball and football at Muskingum, Kent State, and Case-Western Reserve. His third sport was golf which he played until recently. After a coaching career, Harry became a Vice President at Gooding Rubber Company of LaGrange, IL., and later started his own consulting business. Community involvement included serving as President of Tower Trust Investment (LaGrange, IL), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the First Congregational Church (Western Springs), and board member of Community Memorial Hospital (LaGrange, IL), in addition to membership in the Masonic Lodge and Orak Shrine. Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Alberta (Muhleman); children Judith (Haim Ronen) Adams of Wadsworth, IL, Linda Adams-Bartholomew of Allentown, PA, and Thomas (Evangelina) Adams of Bonita springs, FL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and in-laws Thomas and Inez Muhleman, Julia Gooding Rippe. A private service has been held. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden at First Congregational Church of Western Springs.
