Walter B. Stein III, 74, of Indian Head Park, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2021. Beloved husband of Denise M. Likens for a wonderful 25 years. Loving father of Bradley (Ramada) Stein and Brian Stein. Devoted son of the late Walter B. Stein, Jr. and Faye (the late James) Diette. Dear brother of James (Mary) Davidson and Pamela (Thomas) Paulson. Cherished brother-in-law of the late Dennis Baldi and Debra (the late James) Tasic. Fond uncle of many. He is survived by his beloved cats: Chance, Phoebe, Cricket, and Gilly. He was preceded in death by his cats, Tribble and Emily, and many others. Walter was a proud US Air Force veteran. Walter was a longtime veterinarian, and the latter time of his career he spent teaching veterinary technology at Joliet Jr. College. Interment private. I will always remember the fun times in class with Dr. Stein. He was such a genuine, engaging teacher who continued to remember me when we'd run into each other years later. He will be sorely missed!

He was one of the most passionate veterinarians/teachers I have ever met! It was a great honor to be taught by him. Never a dull moment in his classroom. He will be missed. My condolences to all his family and friends
