Adriana Brannen

Brannen, Adriana Long time LaGrange-Indian Head Park resident, Adriana Brannen (nee) Paluzzi passed away peacefully on February 6, 2013. Adriana was born in Ferentino Italy, a suburb of Rome, July 18, 1926. She emigrated to the United States when she was 10 years old where she and her parents settled in Evanston. After completing her studies, Adriana displayed a flair for fashion and was hired by Marshall Field and Company. In addition to modeling for them, Adriana eventually became a buyer for their lingerie department. It was at Marshall Field that she caught the eye of a dashing young man, Lawrence Brannen, fresh out of college. He constantly asked her out and she constantly ignored his flirtations but his persistence paid off and they were married in 1953. Adriana and Lawrence raised five children and managed a real estate business over the years. In 1977, her husband passed away and Adriana embraced her faith and love of God that would carry her through the rest of her life. It was her strong beliefs that paved the way for her Healing Ministry and she held prayer vigils until the last year of her life. Adriana was also a T.O. Carmelite. What we will remember the most is her charismatic smile and the twinkle in her periwinkle blue eyes that would light up a room. Adriana was a loving daughter to Vincenzo and Ernesta; loving sister to Silvia Hendershott (Don), and brother to Vincent Jr.; beloved mother to five; Corinne Montalbano (Mike), Linda Wilk (Len), Deborah G. Brannen, Lawrence Brannen (Deborah E.) and John Brannen; grandmother to Brian (Meg), Lauren, JP, Melissa (Andrew), Thomas, Hillary, Grace and William; great-grandmother to Brannen, Daniel and Everett. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She will be, forever in our hearts. We love you Mom...
