Alois G. Vana, age 87, U.S. Army Veteran, at rest October 11, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Ardeth Anne Vana for 48 years. Loving father of Alan, Donald (Debra) and Thomas (Mary) Vana. Devoted grandfather of Sara (T.J.) Scruggs, Karen Vana, Lauren (Tom) Pederson, Amy (Mike) Martin, Julie (Alex) Hemesath, Rachel (Matt) Ross and Emily Vana (fiancé Patrick Tharp). Cherished great-grandfather of Seann, Mason, Grayson, Caden, Jocelyn, Wyatt, Shea and Thomas. Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Alois retired as the Executive Director of the Berwyn Park District after 37 years of dedicated community service. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Westchester Lodge #995 A.F. & A.M. Visitation Thursday October 14th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. 2921 S. Harlem Ave; Berwyn. A private family burial service will take place at Bohemian National Cemetery. Al was my first boss- I worked at Proksa Park summers and some weekends all through high school and college. Al was a wonderful blend of managerial, technical, and social skills. The community was lucky to have him. Best wishes and condolences to the family.
