There are no words that can describe the kinda of Officer Brian Strouse had become or most of all the type of person he was on and off duty. Brian's presence will be greatly missed by his fellow brothers and sisters in Blue. Especially by the Family that he will always have at the 012th Dist.

To the Strouse Family,

I can't begin to put into words how terrible I feel about Brian's passing. I knew Kathy and Brian in the early high school days and have nothing but wonderful memories of the Strouse family. Brian was an incredible person and I am so proud to have known him. He made a positive impact on this community and he touched many hearts. I will always remember his big smile, his hearty laugh, and his warm heart.

With my deepest sympathies,

Julie Vitello

To the Strouse Family:

Please, accept in the name of my wife Aleidy and myself, our deepest sympathies in the loss of your son and brother. As a former Chicagoan whose family still lives in the Windy City, and as a retired Police Officer, I wish to tell you that, the loss of a brother or sister in blue is always a heartbreaking blow that those of us in Law Enforcement will never learn to accept. May God have mercy upon Off. Strouse's soul and grant your family, his friends and coworkers, much needed consolation and strength during these difficult moments. Rest assured that your loss has not been and vain and, let's pray that justice is applied to the full extent of the law in this case so other police and civilian families alike, will never have to endure what you are now suffering.

Frank & Aleidy Piloto,

Retired Deputy Sheriff

Miami Dade Police Department

Miami, Florida

To the Strause family: Words can not describe the sadness I felt when I learned that Officer Strause had passed away, in spite of surgery done on him. Somehow I had truly hoped and prayed he would pull through. So now, you have lost your son/brother/friend and Chicago has lost another police officer and we are the poorer for that. I think too often that many people forget that police are humans...that they are someone's husband, wife, mother, father, uncle, aunt, brother, sister...someone who has hopes and dreams just like anyone else. All we as citizens of Chicago can ask, is that the officers not forget that there are MANY of us out here who are VERY grateful you are for us...that you cared enough to become a paart of that "thin blue line"...that you DO make a difference. May Brian rest in peace and may Our loving Lord give you, his family and friends consolation and strenghth during this very difficult time. God bless you.
