I remember meeting Brother Brutus at the Jes Res weekday night masses at Loyola University in Chicago. He was extremely friendly and was always a welcoming sight to see. After discovering that I was also from Kentucky, we often chatted after/ before mass and when we saw each other on campus. I appreciate his sincere friendliness and felt better when seeing him when I was homesick simply for the fact that he was also from Ky. I am sure the few years I had interactions with him were no exception to his beautiful character, and know that there are many other people out there like myself who so greatly appreciated his nice and loving personality. Thanks Borther Brutus for helping make my experience at Loyola the wonderful one that it was and for the many things uknown to me that you did to help others.

Br. Brutus was a wonderful part of our Colombiere community and he will be missed very much. I loved hearing his stories about his experiences on the family farm in Kentucky, his World War II challenges, and all about his very interesting family history. A more immaculately presented man we will never see at Colombiere.
Thank you Br. Brutus for your friendship, your example of humility and service, and for the grace of having shared a part of your life.
What a fascinating, grace-filled, and good life you lived!

My Uncle Brutus was a real man of God.
He lived his life in a very humble way trying to make this world a better place.
He was always very passionate about Kentucky. Before he joined the Jesuits he was a good farmer here at Runnymede.
I would enjoy hearing his stories about raising livestock and breeding race horses.
We will always miss you Uncle Brutus.
Love,
JOSEPH CLAY
