Byron N. Hipps, 81, died December 13, 2006. He was born November 24, 1925 in Asheville, North Carolina to William Handy Hipps and Vonnie McLean Hipps. Byron is survived by his wife Demaris of Oak Brook, Illinois; two daughters; Catherine Hipps of Houston, TX, Julia Hipps (Tom Schroeder) of Zionsville, Indiana; grandson, Thomas Schroeder; sister Betty (Hugh) Delozier; several in-laws, and cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He joined Eli Lilly and Company as a sales representative in 1955, and worked in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana and Illinois, retiring as a clinical research coordinator in 1991. Byron was devoted to his family and loved walking on his land in Spring Creek, North Carolina, breathing the mountain air. He was quite a joke-teller and loved making people laugh. Charles and I are both sad to miss our neighbor and walking partner, Byron. We loved his conversations and enjoyed his company very much. So very sorry that we were unable to attend the service, but was nice meeting the family at the home. Please let me know if we can be of further assistance. Sue Lanham
