Carol Wiborg Obituary

Carol J. Wiborg, 78, of Glenwood, passed away Feb. 5, 2021. Daughter of the late Dr. Walter and late Georgia Wiborg and sister of the late Richard Wiborg. Carol is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A 1964 B.S. graduate of IL Wesleyan Univ. and 1967 M.Ed. from the Univ. of IL, 28 years of her career in education was spent with the DOD teaching in Okinawa, Japan and Germany. She also taught for 4 years in Dist. 161. She enjoyed world travel, music-especially voice, photography, theater and reading. Sang in various oratorio choirs in Japan, Germany and the South Sub. Chorale and the Chancel choir of the First Pres. Church of Chicago Hts. where she was also in the hand bell choir, served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, participated in Women's organizations and many committees. A Visitation will be held on Thur., Feb. 11 from 9:00 a.m.-until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, IL. A Private Burial will take place at Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago. Memorials may be directed to First Pres. Church of Chicago Hts., 900 Thomas St. Chicago Hts., IL 60411.
