Catherine Riley Boege, 86, of Dyer, IN, was born into eternal life on Friday, April 17, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Thomas N. Boege, Sr.; sons, Thomas W. (Sharon) Leyden of Indianapolis, IN; James W. (Alissa) Leyden of Denver, CO, Mark (Maureen) Leyden of Indianapolis, IN, Paul J. (Lauren) Leyden of Bedford, NH; Thomas N. (Sherri) Boege, Jr. of Hanover Park, IL, Paul (Susan) Boege of Everett, WA, John Boege of Wheaton, IL and Lawrence Boege of Dyer, IN; and nine grandchildren. The family is indebted to the care-giving team of Donna Mendoza, Hilda Olivas,
Patsy Apple, Diana Liston, Danielle
MacDonald and Julia Thomas. Preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas J.
Leyden. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kish
Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe), Munster, IN and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr., Dyer, IN. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN. Catherine helped found the Hospice of the Calumet Area and the Friends of Hospice. She was a long-time supporter of the Carmelite Home for Girls and St. Catherine Hospital, both in East Chicago. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Briar Ridge Country Club, Long Beach Country Club, Carmelite Guild and Caritas Society, former member of St. Thomas More Church and Woodmar Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Ave., Munster, IN 46321; the Carmelite Home, 4840 Grasselli St East Chicago, IN, 46312; or the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Indiana, 9135 N. Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Scott and I would like to express our condolences to the Boege, Leyden and Riley families. Aunt Kay was an amazing person - loving, kind and always cheerful. She had style too! May she rest in peace with God.

Gerry and I were truly blessed by my having Kay as a first cousin. Knowning Kay for her entire life was a treat beyond compare. She was a joy to her entire family and friends. We will miss her,but know that the Leyden,Riley, Bracken and O'Brien families are celebrating her arrival in heaven

We are all so very blessed to be a part of Aunt Kay's family. Her genuine warmth, kindness, and love she graciously gave to all she touched during her life. Aunt Kay's love of God, family, and friends was a beautiful example of how life should be lived. Thank-You so much for always making us feel so special and loved, especially Michael. Our Darling Aunt Kay. We Riley kids will never be able to fully express the love we
received from our Aunt. She taught us how to live by her boundless example of love, kindness, devotion to her family and the Lord. Her compassion toward her community was reflected in the work she did. She has left a great legacy & will be deeply missed.
