Chester Polad, 89, born June 25, 1918, died Jan. 9, 2008, beloved husband of 54 years to the late Marjorie; loving father and friend to Rick, Mike and the late Jane; proud and loving grandfather of Kim, Travis and Jayson; great-grandfather of Dakota, Max and Sawyer; treasured loved one to Carol; and friend to many. Chester was a WWII Navy Veteran and spent a sales career of more than 50 years with Tru-Link Fence, where he was the best in the business. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 1:30 p.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 254 N. Wood Dale Rd. in Wood Dale. In lieu of flowers, Rick is collecting donations toward a contribution to Alden Valley Ridge, where Chester spent the last years of his life in the loving care of his wonderful new friends.
