Christine Knobloch

1935 - 2018

Christine Watzelt Knobloch, age 83, of Wexford, PA, passed away September 21, 2018 at Wexford Healthcare under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice. She was born April 7, 1935 in Skalken, Czech Republic. It was then part of the Sudetenland, Germany. She was the oldest child of Adele Maschek (d. 1988) and Herbert Watzelt (d. 1976). Christine apprenticed as a dressmaker in Germany at age 14. She met and married Harry Knobloch (d. 2015) in Wittenberg, Germany in April 1953 and settled for a time in Haan, Germany where their only child, Monika was born in 1955. They immigrated to the United States in 1957 and spent 50 years in the Chicago area where Christine worked at Garden City Envelope Co. and the First National Bank of Mt. Prospect, Illinois. She loved traveling back to Germany to see family and vacationing in Hawaii. In 2007, Harry and Christine moved to the Pittsburgh area to be closer to Family. Surviving family includes daughter and son-in-law Monika and Fred Homa, two granddaughters, Emilie (William) Winkeler and Linnea Homa. Christine also leaves behind two brothers, Adolf (Adele) Watzelt and Herbert (Marianne) Watzelt in Germany as well as nieces and nephew, Marion, Birgit, Holger, Nina, and Christina.
