Curtis Burrows Speed of Deerfield passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Cleveland, OH to Andrew and Helen Speed (Lohr), raised there and in Wellesley, MA, Curt graduated from Wellesley High School and from Babson College. In 1967, he married Marilyn E. O'Boyle of Geneva, NY. Curt and his family moved to Deerfield, IL when he joined Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire. For 38 years, Curt built the firm's group benefits audit practice, retiring as a Principal of Aon Hewitt in 2014. Curt is survived by son Greg and wife Lona of Washington, DC; son Todd and wife Lisa of Northbrook, IL; his grandchildren Laurel, Scarlett, Andrew and Julia; his sisters-in-law Susan O. Lyman of Wellesley, MA and Sandra J. O'Boyle of Geneva, NY, and cherished extended family. His beloved wife Marilyn passed in 2018. He is also predeceased by older brother Stuart. Join his family to celebrate Curt's wonderful life at a memorial service on Saturday, December 11th at 1:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield. Donations made in Curt's memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield or Chicago Botanic Garden would be gratefully accepted.
