Daniel Austin Harrity

Daniel Austin Harrity, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, Florida on December 13th, 2020. He served in the U.S. Army as a Signal Corps Operator and was a retired electrician with the Brotherhood of Electricians Local 134 in Chicago. Daniel was the son of the late John and Mary Harrity, who were born in Ireland and moved to Chicago where they raised 10 children in the DePaul/Lincoln Park neighborhood. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (Peggy) (nee Gibbons); dear daughter-in-law, Carrie and cherished granddaughters MacKenzie and Mallory Harrity; his loving sisters, Anne Marie (Nancy)(Raymond) Eisenmenger, Catherine (John) Cwiklinski and Sheila Harrity; in-laws Maureen Gibbons, the late Edward Gibbons (Joan), Ruth (James) Kalal, Carol (Stephen) Zubo and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved children, Deborah Ann Harrity-Anderson (Marc) and Daniel Jr. and his brothers, Edward, John (Barbara), James (Gail), Thomas, Terrence and the Rev. Patrick Harrity. A Requiem Mass and gathering will be scheduled post Covid-19. Interment is private.
