Daniel Kelly Obituary

Daniel E. Kelly, 92, died Dec. 27 of cancer. His career spanned over 50 years, and he headed the creative departments of two major advertising agencies: Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, and J. Walter Thompson, Tokyo. He also started his own agency, Kelly, Tims & Andrus. He grew up in Knoxville, TN, and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He earned a Bachelor of Journalism Degree from the University of Missouri. He is preceded in death by daughter Erin Kelly Graf, and survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carol; children, Daniel A. of Wilmette; Megan of Glenview; Brian (Robin) of New York City; and son-in-law Karl Graf of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren Isaac and Micah Graf of Phoenix, AZ; Carolyn, Charlotte and Devin Kelly of Glenview; and Paige and Sloane Kelly of New York City; and brother William J. (Rosemarie) Kelly of Athens, TN, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Jan. 9 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 524 9th Street, Wilmette, from 9:30-11 a.m., mass following.
