David S. Gierut, age 65, of Darien, beloved husband of Kathleen nee Doyle. Loving father of Colleen (Fred) and Timothy Gierut. Dearest grandfather of Clayton and Cameron. Fond brother of Thomas (Diana) and the late Michael Gierut. Cherished son of the late Stanley and Ann. Son- in-Law of Louise and the late Peter Doyle. Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Visitation Sunday, March 29th. 3-8 pm at Modell Funeral Home 7710 S. Cass Ave. Darien. Memorial Mass Monday, March 30th. 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Church 701 Plainfield Rd. Darien. I worked with Dave for several years at The Options Clearing Corporation.
I admired Dave. You always knew exactly where you stood with him. If he had a problem with you, you knew it and you knew why. If he liked you, he would do what he could for you whenever he could. He supported the people in his charge admirably.
I was saddened at the news of his passing. My sympathies to his family and friends.
