Davis Roenisch Obituary

Davis H. Roenisch, 92, passed peacefully on December 8, 2020 in Evanston, Illinois. He is survived by daughter Melinda, son Davis Jr, first wife Elizabeth and grandchildren Heidi and Brooks. He is predeceased by his cherished son Clint, and second wife Karen. With a brilliant mind, Davis was a highly regarded actuary, and later in life, an equity investment advisor. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University, and earned an LLB from Harvard Law School. He was a member of the IL and D.C. bars, the American Bar Association committee on Prepaid Legal Insurance, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, charter member of the Academy of Actuaries, and the CEO of his company Compensation and Capital. His accomplishments have had enduring positive impact for both private clients and multiple state pension and employee benefit systems. A long time Winnetka resident, Davis was a superb horseman and nationally ranked polo player, as well as an avid golfer. He was ever a loyal and generous friend, and wonderful father who loved his family. He will be in our hearts always. A memorial celebration will be held in 2021. Memorial gifts may be made to the Nature Conservancy.

In the 22 years that I have known Mr. Roenisch, by helping him secure his future along with his wife Karen's future against the cost of long term care by buying long term care insurance. He was kind, attentive, and considerate as his primary goal was never to burden anyone. His voice was always filled with joy, especially when discussing his family. I am sure he has impacted everyone's life that he had met as he has in mine.
