While we had not been in touch since high school, one does not easily forget a person like Debbie- her warm, kind and zany personality is one of the strongest memories I have of those wonderful and weird days back in HP. Condolences to her family.

The first time I met Debbie she walked into Isaac and my tiny apartment in Brooklyn and said, aghast, "My God. What did your father say?" I appreciate and aspire to her candor. I felt like I could talk to her about anything, and I did. I loved receiving her hand-drawn cards and tchotkes from her travels; in fact, I'm still expecting something to arrive. Her artwork is all over our house/her house. She made a dreidel mobile out of paper that turns even when the window is closed. I hope her spirit's in it. Love, Ariel

Debbie introduced my husband and me in Philadelphia in 1976 when she transferred to Penn. She and I were both new students there at the time, and we struck up a friendship during our transition year at the university. In the past couple of years, I reconnected with her briefly on FB and was amazed to see all the dynamic things she was doing.
We are returning to Penn for our 40th year reunion next week and I will certainly think of her there...
Condolences to her family and close friends and may her memory be for blessing....

I am so shocked to hear of Debbie's passing. I met her years ago when my son David and Noah became friends in Sunday school at Temple Solael. I last saw her several years ago when I was visiting some of my family in Chicago. We lost touch but I would see occasional Facebook postings so it seemed like she was still in my life. I already miss her deeply. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Debbie's family should know how much her classmates loved her and how devastated we are by her passing. Her humor, her dedication to doing the right thing, and her caring nature touched many of us. For those of us who attended today's funeral, it is also important that you know that what you shared was special to us. We cannot begin to imagine your grief, but your words touched us. You have lost someone who you cannot replace, and we cannot begin to grasp the enormity of that. But we thank you for sharing your love for Debbie with us. May be memory be a blessing. Lynn Kahn

To My Sis, Debbie...and your entire family...
Our deepest condolences. We love you all.
We shared so many fabulous times growing up together (especially in 16F), sharing the same in-laws, and even having the same birthday. So many wonderful memories... working together at Anjar, planning parties together, holidays, laughing and having fun on play dates with the kids, 57th Street, Florida vacations and family fun ...
Our entire family is devastated and shocked. We will miss your loving kindness - always helping those in need - stray dogs, pregnant moms and others in Liberia, Earthquake victims in Haiti, or numerous others closer to your heart and your home.
We will miss you deeply, but we will keep your spirit in our hearts forever. We love you!
To Arto, Neil, Sara, Isaac, Ariel and Noah - We love you immensely and we're here for you always.
To Ros, Sam, Tina and Mark and your families, and to Paul, what a heartbreak. You have our sincere sympathies.
We love you all.
