Delba Winthrop Mansfield

Delba Winthrop Mansfield, died August 16, 2006 in Cambridge, Mass., of cancer. She received her B.A. from Cornell and her Ph.D from Harvard, where she taught political philosophy to extension students for 27 years. She directed the Program on Constitutional Government inviting many distinguished visitors to Harvard. With her husband, she authored a translation of Tocqueville's/Democracy in America/. She is survived by her husband, Harvey C. Mansfield of Cambridge, Mass.; by her sister, Donna (Richard) Loundy; step children, Ed (Elizabeth) and Will (Sondra) Mansfield; and by five grandchildren. Service Friday, 2 p.m. at Beth Emet, 1224 Dempster, Evanston. Interment Memorial Park, Skokie.
