Dennis Charles McDonald, 72, - loving father, brother, friend, fisherman, Moose Club officer, Highland Park's most-requested plumber - entered eternal rest on September 2, 2021. Dennis was born on April 8, 1949 in Highland Park, Illinois. He is survived by his children Shawna McDonald of San Francisco, California and Bobby McDonald of Chicago, Illinois; partner Leah Carlsen of Highland Park, Illinois; former wife Terri Ori of Gulfport, Florida; sister Mary (Michael) Kearney of Elgin, Illinois; sister Kathleen McDonald of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; sister Joan (Michael) Brennock of Chicago, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cared about him deeply. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents William "Ed" and Leonella "Nell" McDonald and his older brother William "Bill" McDonald, all of Highland Park, Illinois. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd. Highland Park. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Rd. Highland Park. Interment River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Dennis had three granddogs who he loved very much. All came into the family from animal rescue organizations.
