Proud grandmother of Ian (Alice) Shaffer, Madeline (Jerry) Shifirin, Jonah Gross, Noah Shaffer, Ally Gross, Reece Kamins, Ryder Kamins, Hudson Kamins, Isaac Gross, and Eli Kamins. Devoted great-grandmother of Lou and Levi. Cherished sister of Larry (Merle) Cohen, Alan (Idalee) Cohen, and the late Audrey Lasser; and sister-in-law of Roberta (Robert) Freed. A favorite memory from the high holidays at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest was my mother pointing out the large Cohen clan with their "reserved" area on the right side of the congregation. An observant , respected, and beloved family. Rest in peace, Doris.

Just heard of Doris passing. A distant cousin but a close one as was Larry and Alan. Remember fondly visiting the "compound" that they all loved so much. Bruce Golden. Morton Freed was one of my mother's first cousins and his mother Molly often visited us in Oak Park. Molly was one of my grandmother's sisters, Bertha Eisenberg.
