Edward Roos Obituary

Edward W. Roos, of Bloomingdale, Michigan, formerly of Chicago, age 88, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Metron of Bloomingdale, MI. Mr. Roos was born May 23, 1915 in Chicago where he resided until moving to Bloomingdale, MI, 20 years ago. Mr. Roos was a founding member of St. James Lutheran Church in Chicago where he served as Superintendent of the Sunday School and sang tenor in the choir. He was a licensed architect and A.I.A. member and worked for Schmidt, Garden and Erikson. He was a member of the Cliff Dwellers Club, the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church, and a Boy Scout Leader. Surviving are two children, Annette (Joseph) Ondraka of Stevensville, MI, James (Mary) Roos of Lombard, IL; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Karen) Ondraka, Carl (Tracy) Ondraka, Lori Anne (Ralph) Emlong, Timothy Roos, Todd (Christie) Roos; six great-grandchildren, Brittany and Corinne Ondraka, Kalynne Ondraka, Drake and Lily Lorena Emlong, Alexander James Roos. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena, in 2003. The family will meet friends Sunday 3 to 5 p.m. at the D.L. Miller Funeral Home, Bloomingdale, MI 269-521-3121, where funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., Pastor David Youngs officiating. Interment services will be 11 a.m. (Chicago Time) Monday at the Irving Park Cemetery Chapel, Chicago. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or charity of donor's choice.
