Elaine Couston

Elaine Mae Couston, nee Dukas, age 86, of the LaGrange Highlands, formerly of Hegewisch. Beloved wife of the late Stephen for 66 years; loving and unselfish mother of Thomas, James D. (Elise) Couston and Diane (Nick) Vasti; cherished Yiayia of Stephen (Amanda), Alex and Chris. Proud great-Yiayia of Zoe; dear sister of the late James Dukas and cousin of James (Popi) Dukas of Hegewisch. Elaine was a longtime employee of US Steel/Strapping Division and often worked to help immigrants obtain citizenship, naturalization and employment in the United States. Visitation 4-9pm Tuesday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Trisagion service 7pm. Will lie in state 9am Wednesday until time of funeral service, 10am at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 13631 S. Brainard Ave., Chicago. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
