Emily Fine Obituary
An active member of the cultural communities of San Francisco and Chicago, Emily was a dedicated supporter of the De Young Museum and Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts in San Francisco, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago.
She was also deeply involved in the University of Chicago community, where she was a member of the Divinity School Council and of committees and boards of the Oriental Institute, the Division of Humanities and the Lying-In Hospital, as well as the Board of Directors of the International House.
Ever curious, she attended meetings of the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, was a Member of the Chairman's Council of the American Trust for the British Library, and traveled the world collecting art, textiles and experiences.
Predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Dr. Max Fine, and brother, Dr. Charles Edward Huggins, she will be dearly missed by her children, Thomas Huggins Fine (Jacqueline) and Edward Huggins Fine (Leslie), grandchildren Wrenna, Wyatt, Gabriel and Charlie, and countless friends and extended family.
No plans have yet been made for a celebration of Emily's life.
