Eva Haldrup Clauson, 93, died peacefully in her sleep January 3, 2022 at Westminster Presbyterian Home in Evanston, where she has lived for over 20 years. Born in Highland Park, Eva graduated from Huntley H.S. and attended Northern Illinois University. She enjoyed a career in administrative work, the highlight being as Admin. Asst. to the Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield. Eva generously volunteered her time to The Cradle and Westminster, where she served on the women's board for many years. She met her husband Vernon Clauson (deceased) and enjoyed married life living in Arlington Heights. Eva took pride in being a good homemaker, supportive wife, and dear, thoughtful friend to her family in the U.S. and in Denmark, who she visited on many occasions. Beloved sister of Margaret "Jean" Haldrup (Jacob) Stap, dear aunt of Robert (Kathy) Haldrup, Linda (Randy) Shields, Andrew (Kim) Haldrup, Jane (Robert) Vowel, Neil Haldrup, Susan (Robert) Kust, Sandra (Kevin) Clifton, and John Clauson. Great-aunt of many who will dearly miss her. Also preceded in death by parents Margaret and Sigurd Haldrup and brother Jack (the late Nancy Wilhite) Haldrup. Services are being planned.
