Dear Mimi and Matt,
A mutual friend sent me your father's obituary. Your father lived an incredible life and we are all enriched by him.
We knew Frank when I worked with your mother in the late 1970s and 1980s. Your parents convinced us to more to Uptown and we lived a few blocks away.
We moved to Canada and your parents had a wedding in Toronto and they stayed with us for the weekend. On the morning of the wedding, we all went strawberry picking at a local pick yourself farm. Your father declared that he is the only illegal migrant farmworker who will wear a tux later that day. Whenever he found a really big strawberry he would declare it a triple-A. That was probably thirty years ago, but even today whenever we see a huge strawberry, we call it a Frank triple-A.
His memories will live on in the hearts and minds of many people. We hope you are comforted by his great spirit.

As a video documentarian, I had the honor of meeting Frank and Marjorie Alschuler in 2010. I spent the day today uploading a large amount of rough footage featuring this delightful couple, then wandered curiously to the internet only to learn that just days ago, Frank passed away. Therefore, I think it is fitting that I share the footage here in the hope that the family will appreciate a long, unedited front-porch chat about architecture, place, and home. Peace, Roxane Assaf-Lynn

Dear Mimi,
Your dad was terrific. Larry and I enjoyed the times we talked with him when at an Access Living event.
We know your loss is great and hope you can find comfort in your mutual warm and loving relationship.

Frank is responsible for my lifelong Cubs addiction, as he took me to my first Wrigley experience. Unfortunately, it led to years of therapy until that one beautiful evening in Cleveland:)
