Frank Guido Obituary

Frank R Guido, Sr., 94 years old, WWII US Navy, of Grayslake, IL passed away on September 22, 2021.

Loving husband of Carmela (Millie) Guido for 69 years. Father of four sons, Frank Jr., Michael (Kathy), Mark, Thomas (Lesley). Grandfather of eight: Andrea, Laurel, Tessa, Kimberly, Daniel, Colin, Regina and Grace. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben and Dominic, and his sisters Rose and Nancy.

He attended St. George High School in Evanston, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy/Merchant Marine onboard ship during World War II, in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and South Pacific theaters. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy of Kings Point, N.Y. After the War Frank had a prosperous career in the pump industry and became a member/trader on the Chicago Board of Options Exchange.

Frank was a parishioner of St. Mary's church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, all of Lake Forest, IL. for over 50 years. Since moving to Grayslake, he was a parishioner at St. Mary's of the Annunciation, Fremont Township, IL.

Visitation will be available at 9:30 am on Monday Sept. 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville, IL followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Western Golf Association Evans Scholarship Foundation https://www.wgaesf.org. Funeral arrangements by McMurrough Funeral Chapel (847) 362-2626.
