Frank Mark

1935 - 2016

Frank Herman Mark of Boynton Beach, Florida, died January 7, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Frank was born June 12, 1935 in New York City. After graduating from the City College of New York and Yale Divinity School he worked for the YMCA for 35 years. He took enormous pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, and was a loving, kind and faithful husband. He is survived by his second wife, Janet Mark, daughter Laura Morris and son-in-law Keith Morris, son David Mark and daughter-in-law Carol Mark, stepson Gary Berndt, stepdaughter Gwen Sojdelius and stepson-in-law Jay Sojdelius, and grandchildren Jennifer Morris, Ryan Mark, Colleen Morris and Emily Mark. He is also survived by his sister Carole Schweizer, his brother Robert Mark and sister-in-law Maureen Mark, and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. A Celebration of Life service will be held January 30, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, IL. Guests will be welcome to share their memories of Frank. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the YMCA World Service in memory of Frank Mark.
