Fung Chan Obituary

Fung King Chan (Nee Mui), 90, of Chicago peacefully passed away October 7, 2014 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Pui Chou Chan, beloved mother of Mary (Paul) Wong, Eugene Chan, Leonard Chan, Christine (Robert) Wasiak, Edmund Chan and Wayne (Audra) Chan; loving grandmother of Eva Wong, Angela Wong, Lani Wong, Eileen (Miguel) Lima, Sara Chan, Collin Wasiak, Evan Wasiak, Michelle Chan and Maddux Chan and dearest great grandmother to Isabelle Lima and Liliana Lima. Born in China, she taught school until relocating to Hong Kong and Chicago. Enabled by her ethic and devotion, the family thrived and happily grew. She retired from Hart Schaffner & Marx, traveled and most enjoyed spending time with her 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They made her laugh constantly, lighting up her face with eternal joy. She led a full, happy and active life as a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies of St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church, Senior Club of the Chinese American Service League and an active participant in the Chinese community. Her sense of humor, strength and compassion was why she was loved by many. We miss her dearly. Visitation will be held 2pm-9pm, Friday, October 10, 2014 and 9am-12pm, Saturday, October 11, 2014 followed by the Funeral Service at Dalcamo Funeral Home, 470 W. 26th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60616, 1-312-842-8681
