Gail was the best woman leader I've ever known. She was brilliant and fair. Apart from that she was a very good friend. I still cannot believe that 7 years have passed since she died - much too early.

Gail was my former boss at the GATX - and later we became friends. I admired her intelligence, warmth and resilience. She has always been extremely supportive. I miss her very much.
My condolences to the family.

Gail was a Thursday morning classmate of mine at the University of Chicago. Her contributions to the class were so interesting and well articulated. We miss her; I miss her.

I was a classmate of Gail's in the University of Chicago's Basic Program. During that time I found her to be smart, witty, gracious, and warm. I always looked forward to hearing what she had to say, and I always admired the congenial way in which she expressed herself. She was one of those people that I feel better for having known, and she will be sorely missed.

I was one of Gail's instructors in the Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults at the University of Chicago: I truly treasured and enjoyed her presence and vibrant contributions, both inside and outside the classroom, and am deeply saddened by her loss.
She will be greatly missed by her classmates, her teachers, and all of us in the program; our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family and friends.
