Dr. George Caleel“s teaching lectures at CCOM were always clear and well organized. While teaching us at CCOM he also emphasized ethical and safe practices. He emphasized caution in prescribing opioids long before the current opioid epidemic. He is remembered with great respect.

From time to time in clinical work, I remember bits of advice especially on ethics of practice that don't change though the technology of dosing, testing and treatment are all in constant change.

March 19, 2017

Dr. Caleel was a great teacher. He was ahead of his time warning us about overprescribing opioids. He was helpful to me in resolving dilemmas in my clinical studies.
My condolences to his family especially Dr. Richard Caleel another great teacher.

I had the privilage of being one of Dr G.Caleel's students at CCOM. In the late 1950's
He was witty and very well prepared to teach medicine . His lectures and methods of dispensing knowledge in Pharmacology gave me a strong foundation .
He was always a great asset to the Osteopathic profession and his life as a physician mentor will not be forgotten .

My sincere sympathy to entire Caleel family. The kindness and care that was given to me over the years from George, are endless. I'm overwhelmed with sadness, he was a wonderful man. I'm thinking he is playing gin rummy with Bob. My love to all of you. Judy Hambrick
