GERARD LAVERY Obituary

Gerard J. Lavery, Ph.D., of Buffalo Grove, was born Sept. 17, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas and Mary Ellen Lavery. He died July 1, 2012 at The Abington of Glenview. Gerard served in the Army during WWII. He was the former Director of the Neuropsy lab of Lutheran General Hospital's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit for 20 years and the Director of the Out Patient Counseling Center of Resurrection Hospital. Gerard is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jacqueline (nee Krych) Lavery; his sisters Loretta (William) Montgomery and Rita (late Thomas J., Sr.) Lederer; and by many nieces and nephews. Gerard was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy (late Henry) Kazmierczak, Agnes (late Martin) Simon; Mary (late Martin) Oppelt and Joan (William) Searfoorce and by his parents. Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2012 from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. at The Carmelite Monastery, 949 N. River Rd., Des Plaines. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
