I was sorry to read of Gery's passing (& of his mother's). Unfortunately, it was too late to attend either of the wakes or funerals. Gery was probably my best friend at St. Casimir's. Unfortunately, we lost touch along the way. It seems he turned out to be quite a priest, & quite a man. What better can be said of someone?

I was deeply saddened, although not surprised, to learn of Gery's passing when I returned from an overseas trip this weekend. Gery and I were best of friends for many years, and he baptized my three daughters. I saw him about a year ago and knew that his health was failing. We stayed in touch by phone, and when I could not reach him over the holidays, something in my heart told me that he was gone. I will miss him a great deal, but I am glad that he has gone on to a place of eternal rest and peace. I will have a Rob Roy in your memory tonight, Gery. Rest in peace, dear friend, and deepest sympathies to Mrs. Stefanski, Greg and Delores, and Jackie, and Clara. God Bless.

Fr. Gery was a long lost friend of mine in Chicago. I knew him in high school, there were a number of us who gathered frequently at different houses for coffee and endless conversations. I will miss that fact that he is not reachable here on earth.

I only knew Gery as a boy at St. Casimir, so I can only be sure he was a good man. Peace and blessing to his family and all who loved him.

Gery was a wonderful priest who embodied a unique spirit of fun and compassion. His laugh was infectious. His parties were always a special occassion.Heaven will definitely be livelier! He will be deeply missed by the many who had the fortune of crossing his path on this earth.

Gery was a priest who helped and comforted many. He was also our friend; and although we lost touch in recent years, he was often in our thoughts and prayers.
Unfortunately, Anne and I cannot attend the wake or funeral mass. But we are there in spirit. We wish peace for Gery and for his friends and family.

Our family has very fond memories of Father Gery during his time at St. Mary's in Evanston. May he rest in peace.
