Gloria Ann Adelman
Gloria Ann Adelman (nee Schwartz) peacefully passed away, at home, with Gary at her side on October 4, after a gallant 6-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Gloria was the daughter of the late Samuel & Florence Schwartz of Kansas City, Mo. Gloria was the sister of the late Marilyn Katcher and Sister of Alan Schwartz (Barbara) and Bennett Schwartz (Deborah), and dearest sister-in-law of Myra Orlinsky (Peter) and Arthur H. Adelman. Gloria moved to Chicago in the early 1960s with her girlfriends, Barbara Bayer & Barbara Sak, to meet Mr. Right. Fortunately, Gloria adjusted her criteria and met Gary at a boat party in 1963, and they were married in Kansas City in 1965. Gloria and Gary were blessed with two wonderful children Karen (Ranquist) and Dr. Brad Adelman. She had two beautiful grandchildren Charlie and A.J. Ranquist. Gloria & Gary celebrated their 56th anniversary in August of last year. Gloria was a most caring and loving partner, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. All will greatly miss her. Service was privately held. In lieu of flowers, Gloria would wish that you go out and enjoy the day and have a drink and have a kind thought of her.
