Heidi L. Haueisen of Vernon Hills, IL passed away peacefully in Champaign, IL on March 2, 2021 at the age of 62. Heidi was born in Chicago, IL on January 26, 1959 to parents Martin and Darlene Haueisen, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister Meredith Mills of Champaign, IL; brother, Kurt Haueisen (Debra) of Jackson, MI; loving Aunt, Evelyn Housenga of River Forest, IL; nieces Madison and Ashley Mills of Champaign, IL; Heather (Eric) Curtis of Greenville, MI; and Katie (Daniel) Bennett of Muir, MI.

Heidi was a multisport athlete at Stevenson High School, Lincolnshire, IL and went on to continue her athletic career in basketball for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Education and continued on to earn a master's degree. Heidi was a lifelong teacher of driver's education, physical education, and health at both Deerfield High School, Deerfield, IL and New Trier High School, Winnetka, IL where she also coached multiple sports. She recently retired after an exceptional 35 year teacher career.

Heidi enjoyed many outdoor activities including running, biking and traveling. She completed several marathons and took several biking trips along the east and west coast of the United States. Heidi was an avid sports fan and took particular interest in watching the Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, any college sporting event and the Olympics. One of her biggest joys included attending her nieces various sporting events and spending time with them. She adored her dog nephews, Bentley and Rocco, but the biggest joy of her life was being a proud and loving mother to her pet cockatiel, Bailey.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be made at www.morganmemorialhome.com.
